UPDATE 2:05 p.m.: The drivers of two vehicles involved in a collision Wednesday morning on the Cuesta Grade suffered minor injuries, according to the CHP.

There were no passengers in either vehicle, according to the CHP report.

A 33-year-old woman was driving a 1988 Lexus north on the freeway when she hit a patch of ice, lost control and crossed the center median into the southbound lanes. Her car then hit a 1998 Honda driven by a 32-year-old man.

The drivers' names and hometowns were not immediately available. It’s not clear whether they were taken to a hospital.

Original story: A driver heading north on the Cuesta Grade this morning hit a patch of ice, crossed into the southbound lanes and hit another vehicle, according to the CHP.

The crash led to a slow commute for other drivers as traffic backed up on Highway 101.

The crash was first reported at 6:11 a.m., according to the CHP. Both lanes of the road were cleared and re-opened at 7:10 a.m.

Signs were to be put up warning drivers about ice on the road.
