Poor judgment

CrestonFebruary 14, 2013

I’ve read the opinions submitted regarding the recent overblown study on cats being predatory hunters. However, no one has pointed out The Tribune’s lack of judgment in making “Killer Cats” front page news.

Your paper must be aware of the problem this county has with unwanted and abandoned cats, homeless and feral cats, with every shelter in the area filled to the max. To run this article with a big front page anti-cat caption, without considering the biased sources of this manipulated study, was not only bad judgment, but a slap in the face to all of the local volunteers and agencies who are working hard to improve the lives of these animals and keep the population under control — not to mention possibly making it more likely for mistreatment of cats, as they are portrayed here in such a negative light. People who mistreat cats do not need any validation.

The Tribune is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
