Prep Playoff Roundup: Morro Bay wins boys wild-card soccer game

Morro Bay High downed Eastside 3-2 on Wednesday in a CIF-Southern Section Division 5 boys wild-card soccer playoff game in the Pirates' first trip to the postseason in 11 years.

Holt Alden Jr. scored two goals, and Daniel Abiatti added one for Morro Bay (14-8-3).

Jackson Chavez had two assists, and Jeremy Nielson had eight saves in goal for the Pirates. 

Baldwin Park 4, Paso Robles 1

The Bearcats’ Johnny Rodriguez scored off a Daniel Viramontes assist in the first-round loss of the Division 3 playoffs.

Elmer Solis had 12 saves in goal for Paso Robles (11-10-2).

GIRLS WATER POLO

Harvard-Westlake 23, Atascadero 5

The Greyhounds fell to the No. 1-seeded team and two-time defending champions in the Division 3 playoffs. Kylie Ferree had three goals for Atascadero (15-12).

Los Osos 14, Paso Robles 5

Kylie Pugh scored three goals, and goalkeeper Marti Rae Grois had 10 saves for the Bearcats (19-11) in the Division 3 first-round loss.
