I thank Mary Griffith (Letters, Feb. 9) for expressing what so many of us drivers feel. These days it is not politically right to criticize anything “green” but ... cyclists have as many rights as motorists, without having to pay a penny toward the upkeep and maintenance of roads.

A small licensing fee, say $10 a year, would bring in a good amount toward road maintenance. Licensing them for a nominal amount would also solve the problems Ms. Griffith brings up. I am sure there are many people out there who feel the same way.
