The Atascadero High girls water polo team defeated Etiwanda 7-4 in the wild-card round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 playoffs on Tuesday in Arroyo Grande.

Rachel Gruetzmacher and Mahreya Kelly scored three goals each for the Greyhounds, who outscored Etiwanda 6-1 after the first quarter.

Claire Leong added one goal, and goalkeeper Lauren Giggy had 10 saves for Atascadero.

Nipomo girls water polo team falls

The Nipomo girls water polo team fell to visiting Pasadena 4-3 in overtime in the CIF-Southern Section Division 5 wild-card round of the playoffs.
