I appreciate that the USPS needs to save money, thanks in part to the retirement-fund requirements that our idiotic Congress imposed on it, but the no-deliveries-on-Saturday decision is not going to do nearly enough.
What the post office should do is have every-other-day delivery. I can easily live with that level of service, and the post office could gradually phase out half of its mail carriers relatively painlessly through retirement and buyout deals. And save a heck of a lot more money than that Saturday nonsense would.
