Eagles win PAC 7 girls water polo title

Arroyo Grande won its 100th straight PAC 7 victory while also clinching its ninth straight PAC 7 title, according to coach Steven Allan, after defeating Righetti in the PAC 7 tournament championship game Friday.

The Eagles advanced to the finals after defeating Paso Robles 3-1 in a highly defensive match. Kelsey Hitchens scored twice, and Morgan Clark added one for Arroyo Grande in the semifinals.

Arroyo Grande defeated Righetti 14-5 in the championship game, led by Alexis Elias with six goals. Brooklyn VanderVeen added five, and Kelsey Docouto scored three for the Eagles (21-7, 10-0).

St. Joseph 13, San Luis Obispo 9

Emma Tietje and Kimi McCarty had four goals each, but the Tigers (9-19, 3-6 PAC 7) finished their regular season with a loss to the Knights.

Anna Mullen had 14 saves in goal for San Luis Obispo.
