Broncos boys basketball team finishes the season with wins

The Shandon Outlaws play hard and try their best, but they are a very small school, the smallest in the Coast Valley League, and when the Broncos play the Outlaws there is an expectation that Coast Union will prevail.

On Friday night, Feb. 1, there were no surprises as the Broncos easily handled the Outlaws, 61-26.
Leading the scoring for Coast Union Feb. 1 was center Logan Brandt with 25 points; he also had 11 rebounds. Quentin Raethke added 12 points, four rebounds and three steals. Angel Avina led the team with six assists and Gehrig Kniffen chipped in with five assists.

On the season, Raethke leads all scorers with 239 points; he also has 148 rebounds for the Broncos, a dozen blocked shots and 75 assists. Brandt, the Broncos tallest player, leads the team with 39 blocked shots; Brandt has 198 points and 145 rebounds.

Tuesday, Feb. 5, Coast beat Cuyama Valley, 40-21, upping the Broncos record to 9-2 in the Coast Valley League.
