The Santa Lucia Middle School boys basketball team captured the championship of the Lewis Middle School Middlecats Basketball Tournament Jan. 29 to 31st in Paso Robles.

The first night Santa Lucia played the Lewis “B” team and beat them 43-29.  The next night they played Flamson and won 54-31. They then played Lewis for first place and triumphed 63-42.

“It was a great effort all around by the entire team,” said coach Ayen Johnson.
