The public is invited to learn about volunteer opportunities at the Coastal Discovery Center at San Simeon Bay at an information session from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Rabobank, 1070 Main St., Cambria.

Docents interact with visitors from around the world at the visitor information center, a joint venture of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and California State Parks celebrating the connection between land and sea.

The center offers interactive exhibits and education programs about the cultural and natural history of Old San Simeon Village, State Parks and the marine sanctuary in a building at William Randolph Hearst Memorial Beach across Highway 1 from Hearst Castle.

Current staff and docents will be on hand at the information session Friday to talk about how visitors find the center an exciting place to visit, and about continuing education through lectures and field trips for volunteers.

Refreshments will be available. For details, call 927-6575.
