Cal Poly men's tennis team blanks UC Santa Cruz

The Cal Poly men’s tennis team improved to 4-2 on the season with a 7-0 sweep of UC Santa Cruz on Sunday at the Avila Beach Tennis Club.

Andre Dome and Marco Comuzzo won their doubles match, and also won a singles match each. Matt Thomson teamed with Gannon Daynes for a doubles win, and Thomson picked up a win in singles play as well.

Mustangs women lose home opener

The Cal Poly women’s tennis team lost its home opener to San Jose State 5-2 on Sunday at Mustang Courts.

Jen Cornea teamed with Ané McPike to win in doubles, and Cornea was the only Mustangs player to win in singles.

The doubles teams of Alexa Lee and Louise Oxnevad and Kathryn Webb and Gabrielle Gatewood also won matches for Cal Poly (1-3).
