Letter to the Editor

Speak up, SoCo

Published: February 3, 2013

For some time now, several have lobbied and written letters to The Tribune regarding the impending development of Price Canyon (Spanish Springs). This large development is all but done. The Pismo Beach City Council will consider this item for what is planned to be the last time Tuesday at the Vet’s Hall on Bello Street, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Should the council vote to approve this development, it will go to LAFCO for final approval. LAFCO’s authority, however, is limited because Pismo Beach has been designated the lead agency for this project; if LAFCO does not approve the annexation, the impact will mostly be to delay the inevitable.

Those affected by this development reside all over the South County; this is not solely a Pismo Beach issue.

Everyone in the South County is invited to make their voices heard Tuesday. As many as possible should come and let the City Council of Pismo Beach know what they think about this annexation and development.
