Khirey Carson scored a team-high 22 points and had seven rebounds for the Cuesta College men;s basketball team Saturday in a 76-68 home win over Moorpark.
Cuesta’s Plamen Hristov added 21 points, including three 3-pointers, and had a game-high 10 rebounds. Kenney Robinson scored 17 and had nine rebounds and six assists for the Cougars (17-11).
Moorpark’s D.J. Saul scored a game-high 23 points.

The Cougars (16-9, 4-2 Western State Conference) swept Moorpark for the first time in over a decade after shutting down the Raiders’ offense in the second half and are now one game back of the Northern Division lead.
Moorpark shot 32 percent in the second half, and Riley Abraham scored two of her 14 points after halftime and had 18 rebounds. The Raiders were 1 for 20 on 3-point attempts for the game.
Courtney Chadwick had a game-high 19 points for Cuesta after shooting 5 for 8 on 3-pointers. Alyssa Palma had 17 points, six rebounds and four assists, and Miriam Zabinsky had eight points and four assists.
BASEBALL
Cuesta 2, Orange Coast 1; Orange Coast 3, Cuesta 1
In the first game of the doubleheader, Cuesta’s Lucas Martin (1-0) only allowed an unearned run in a complete game to earn the win in a game in which Cuesta only had two hits.
Martin gave up five hits struck out four and walked none.
Cougars second baseman Scott Shields went 1 for 2 with a walk and a sacrifice fly in the eighth for the go-ahead run. Centerfielder Nicolas Rosso had a double.
Jacob Hill (0-1) took the loss while allowing one earned run in 11⁄3 innings of relief for Kyle Dowdy.
In the second game, Orange Coast (2-1) scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning after the first two batters were retired. Marco Murillo (0-1) walked a batter and gave up consecutive singles before being lifted for Travis Beck. Beck threw a wild pitch, and then Shields made an error at second base for the unearned run.
Cuesta (1-2) scored its only run in the fourth when Shields singled and ended up scoring on a wild pitch by Dallas Draviczki (1-0).
SOFTBALL
Cuesta 7, East Los Angeles 5
Cougars outfielder Summer Best had a bases-loaded double in the second inning to knock in three runs to lead Cuesta.
Kryn Masuttani went 2 for 2 with a solo home run, double and an intentional walk. Victoria Roberts (1-0) earned the win with a complete game.
