Cuesta Basketball: Cougars swept in Ventura

Plamen Hristov scored 21 for the Cuesta College men's basketball team Wednesday in its 90-67 loss at Ventura.

The Cougars are 15-11 and 2-3 in the Western State Conference Northern Division with the loss to the Pirates.

Atascadero High graduate Alyssa Palma scored a game-high 21 points and went 9 for 13 from the free-throw line for the Cougars, but they fell to the Pirates in a Western State Conference Northern Division matchup on the road.

Miriam Zabinsky scored 14 points and had 12 rebounds for the Cougars (15-9, 3-2).

Cynthia Hernandez led the Pirates (22-3, 4-1) with 18 points.
