The Diablo Canyon Independent Safety Committee will hold two days of informational hearings Feb. 6 and 7 in Avila Beach.

The meetings will be held at the Avila Lighthouse Suites, First and San Francisco streets, Avila Beach. The meetings are an opportunity for the public to learn about the activities of the safety committee concerning safety-related issues at Diablo Canyon, and multiple opportunities for public comment will be given.

Discussion items include response to the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant accident in Japan, a review of a federally mandated seismic walk-down and evaluation of an emergency preparedness exercise in November.
