Hector Rangel scored 50 points to lead the Shandon High boys basketball team to a 70-54 victory over Cuyama Valley on Tuesday night.
With the win, the Outlaws clinched their first trip to the CIF-Southern Section playoffs in 14 years.
Shandon (8-7, 7-2 Coast Valley League) never trailed in the game and led by 14 at halftime.
Jesus Reyes had eight points, and Andrea Lopez, the Outlaws' lone girls player, had six.

Valley Christian 63, Coastal Christian 40
Roni Garrison had 11 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks in the loss for the Conquerors (2-4 CVL).
Isabelle Unger scored 10 points and had 10 rebounds, and Amy Arnold had 10 points and seven rebounds for Coastal Christian.
Orcutt Academy 44, Coast Union 38
Roxy Mertens led the Broncos (7-6, 6-2 CVL) with 19 points and 11 rebounds in the loss to the Spartans.
Doris Steen had six points for Coast Union, and Crystal Nunez had five steals.
