Nipomo falls to Santa Maria in boys basketball

Kaileb Mendez notched 25 points but the Nipomo High boys basketball team lost at home to Santa Maria 70-54 on Monday.

The Titans scored only two points in the third quarter and had 25 fouls and 28 turnovers in the game.

Freddy Ruiz had 10 points and four rebounds for Nipomo (2-21, 1-8 LPL).

Santa Ynez 67, Morro Bay 46

Morro Bay’s Zach Smith and Elijah Lampley each had 12 points, but Morro Bay lost at home to Santa Ynez.

Morro Bay (9-14, 3-6 LPL) got eight points from Luke Munds against Santa Ynez (5-14, 2-7).
