Joe Tarica’s Jan. 19 gun column was a study in “no logic.”
No logic to complain that the National Rifle association used children in an ad, but it is OK when Obama does it.
No logic that you trust a teacher with your child, but not with a gun to protect your child.
No logic when stating school safety arguments are to distract from the general debate on gun control, when school safety is the exact argument being used for additional gun control.
No logic in comparing self-defense with “killing and murders.”
No logic to say small arms cannot resist government forces: Korea, Vietnam and Afghanistan are examples of such successful resistance.
No logic to say that mental illness is not the issue, when all “mass killers” are clearly mentally ill.
No logic to ban semi-automatic rifles in the hope that “crazies” will resort to bombs, gas, or poisons in the future.
No logic in saying that we do not already have more-than-reasonable restrictions on lawful gun ownership.
No logic in passing laws only honest, law-abiding citizens will follow, when 100 percent of the problems are with criminals and “crazies” who ignore such laws.
