Cal Poly forward Chris Eversley on Monday was named the Big West Conference player of the week in men’s basketball.

Eversley scored 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds against Hawaii last week in an
88-59 win, shooting 8-for-11, and then had a career-high 30 points and added 14 rebounds against Cal State Northridge in a 75-64 victory.

Cal Poly is in third place in the Big West standings. Eversley ranks fourth among Big West players with 7.8 rebounds per game and seventh with 16.4 points per game.

Shooting guard Dylan Royer is the only other Mustangs men’s player to earn player of the week honors this season thus far.

Cal Poly (9-9, 5-3) takes to the road to play UC Irvine (10-11, 4-4) on Wednesday and first-place Long Beach State (11-8, 7-1) on Saturday.
