California Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Wesley Swedberg, of San Luis Obispo; Sgt. Milton Black, of San Miguel; and Spc. Leslie Castroalcina, of San Diego, arrived together after serving in the 1072nd Transportation Company, based out of Fresno. They were welcomed by tearful family members, as well as members of Welcome Home Military Heroes, an Arroyo Grande-based group. They were the second group of soldiers to arrive in the airport Sunday.

Swedberg, who was welcomed by his parents and girlfriend, had just one word to describe the feeling of being home after serving 10 months abroad: “Excellent.”
