Each day, dispatchers from the seven police departments in San Luis Obispo County take dozens of calls from residents seeking help for issues ranging from minor disputes to serious crimes. The Tribune provides coverage of serious crimes every day on its news pages. Here is a look at some of the other, more unusual calls as found in recent police logs from Paso Robles.

Squeezed out 1:43 p.m. Jan. 14, 1465 Creston Road

A woman said a lifted truck was parked so close to her small silver BMW that she could not get into the vehicle. The passenger of the truck also opened the door into her car, causing damage.

Sign of the times 2:16 p.m. Jan. 15, 1319 Spring St.

A customer of Bridge Sportsmen’s Center said he had been calling the business for a couple of hours, but no one answered. He was concerned because he talked to someone at the business that morning and the hours listed on the answering machine indicated it should be open. Officers checked on the business and found it was just very busy.

He’s trying 12:37 p.m. Jan. 16, 1465 Creston Road

A man in the Food 4 Less parking lot had a large sign in the back of his truck saying “Out of gas,” and he was asking customers for gas. The man had been asked to leave, but he would not.

Parental guidance 10:37 a.m. Jan. 18, 2000 block of Olive Street

A resident wanted an officer to come to the house to tell her 30-year-old son to get a job. She was told she needed to have that conversation with her son.

Take a seat 1:19 p.m. Jan. 18, 24th Street

A person said there was a couch on the railroad tracks. An officer said the couch was nowhere near the tracks but moved it farther away.
