Up until Jan. 18, the Bronco boys basketball team had been cruising through the league with three straight blowouts; over Shandon (87-34), Cuyama Valley (67-23), and North County Christian (60-12).
Given that streak, Coast Union was hoping to avenge their earlier loss to the Valley Christian Academy Lions, which put them a game behind the Coast Valley League leaders. But Valley Christian stunned the Broncos, 63-38, on Jan. 18 and now the Broncos are two games back of the Lions.
The next home game for Coast Union is at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, versus Orcutt Academy.
