Cal-Hi Sports.com, released its all-state football teams Thursday with three local players being recognized.
Mission Prep’s Andrew Da Rosa was named to the small schools first team defense at defensive line. Teammate Tyler Baty was named to the second team offense at quarterback.
The Royals lost in the CIF-Southern Section Northeast Division championship game to Rio Hondo Prep. Baty was named The Tribune’s San Luis Obispo County Player of the Year this season. Da Rosa was a first team all-county selection.
Arroyo Grande High’s Cole Ramey was named to the first team all-state sophomores team as a punter/placekicker. He was also a first team all-county selection at kicker.
BOYS SOCCER
Nipomo 1, Templeton 0
Efrain Navarro scored the game’s only goal in the 61st minute to lead the Titans (11-7-4, 5-2-2 Los Padres League) over the Eagles.
Aaron Robles assisted the goal, and goalkeeper Jason Alvarado had two saves.
Templeton (2-12-2, 0-9) goalkeeper Tyrus Yamagata had four saves, including a penalty kick save late in the second half to keep the deficit at one after a Templeton player received his second yellow card of the game for a handball in the box.
Santa Ynez 1, Morro Bay 0 OT
Santa Ynez scored in the 88th minute in overtime to beat Morro Bay (12-6-2, 5-3-1 LPL) for the second time this season.
Santa Ynez won 3-1 at Morro Bay earlier in the season.
Jeremy Nielson had nine saves for Morro Bay.
Coast Union 1, Orcutt Academy 1, tie
Luis Ve Alba scored the Broncos only goal of the game on an assist by Victor Casas.
Goalie Juan Leonardo had four saves for Coast Union (7-7-3).
GIRLS SOCCER
Nipomo 4, Templeton 1
Nipomo (9-8-2, 7-2 LPL) had two goals from Cristina Ozzimo and a goal apiece from Denise Belmontes and Kaitlyn Fernandez.
Ozzimo, Ramirez and Diaz each had an assist for the Titans, and goalkeeper Yocelyn Lopez had two saves.
Lindsey Wyatt scored Templeton’s goal on Sam Bronkar assist. Sammy Schmidt had seven saves for Templeton (5-11, 4-5).
Coast Union 6, Orcutt Academy 1
Cristy Plasencia had two goals and an assist to lead the Broncos (7-7-1) over the Spartans.
Maritza Cortez had two goals, which were both assisted by Morgan May. Paulina Torres and Gabby Bucio scored the other goals for the Broncos, and Patty Bucio and Diana Cisneros also had assists.
Itzel Saavedra had one assist and six saves in goal, and Gabby Bucio had four saves.
Santa Ynez 6, Morro Bay 0
Goalie Madelynn Martinez had 20 saves for Morro Bay (3-14, 1-8 LPL).
