Traffic has been limited to one lane recently on Los Osos Valley Road near the South Bay Community Center as construction workers install sewage collection lines in Los Osos.
Installation of the $170 million Los Osos sewer project began in October and is expected to last until February 2015.
Various streets in the community are affected by the project at any given time. In a few areas of town, including segments of Los Olivos Avenue and Fairchild Way, installation is complete.
Construction of a wastewater treatment plant will also be completed in 2015.
The new sewer system will serve about 4,700 residences and businesses.
