The summer-like weather expected on Monday — with an afternoon high temperature near 80 degrees in San Luis Obispo — will come to an end Tuesday, and light rain could fall Wednesday night, a local forecaster says.

PG&E meteorologist John Lindsey said the high-pressure ridge that has been anchored off California will start easing on Tuesday. A weak cold front will move toward the state on Wednesday, and by that evening there will be a chance of light showers, Lindsey said.

The cold front will move eastward on Thursday, leading to partly cloudy skies that will continue into Friday. By Friday afternoon another storm system will arrive, Lindsey said, and could cause showers countywide.

The showery weather will continue into Sunday, and dry weather may not return until Jan. 29, Lindsey said.

High temperatures Monday and Tuesday will be in the mid-70s in the North County and high 70s in San Luis Obispo. Overnight lows will be in the 30s.

Daytime highs will fall into the 60s countywide by the second half of the week, with lows warming into the 40s.
