Two new members were sworn into the Atascadero Planning Commission this week.

Councilwoman Roberta Fonzi appointed Jan Wolff to replace Beth Wingett, who recently resigned; while newly appointed Councilwoman Heather Moreno selected Duane Anderson, according to a city press release. Both are Atascadero residents.

Wolff, a self-employed vocational and rehabilitation counselor, holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology and a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, the press release says.

The city’s potential annexation of the Eagle Ranch property on its southwest side and a regional Climate Action Plan are her staple issues.

Anderson, a self-employed artist, has worked in the design and construction industries, according to the city.

He also operates a ceramic studio from his home. In a statement, Anderson said he plans to “bring common sense and a thoughtful, considered approach” to his decisions on the commission.

The seven-member planning commission is made up of five commissioners directly appointed by individual City Council members for a four-year term and two commissioners appointed by a majority vote of the entire council for a two-year term.

The city is accepting applications through Jan. 31 for the commission's two at-large positions.
