Six people were arrested in San Luis Obispo early Tuesday following an investigation into a string of residential burglaries in the city.

According to San Luis Obispo police, detectives served search warrants early Tuesday morning at two locations, in the 1600 block of Lima Drive and the 11600 block of Los Osos Valley Road. Stolen property, including a handgun and jewelry, was allegedly found at the homes, as were methamphetamine, heroin and drug paraphernalia, police said in a news release.

Three men were arrested on felony charges during the investigation:

  • Sean Cullen, 32, of San Luis Obispo, on suspicion of possession of stolen property and being a felon in possession of a handgun, both felonies, and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
  • Angel Medina, 22, of San Luis Obispo, on suspicion of possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine, both felonies, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Justin Foster, 21, of San Luis Obispo, on suspicion of possession of heroin, a felony; being under the influence of a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Three other people were arrested on warrants and misdemeanor drug charges.

California Highway Patrol Auto Theft Task Force investigators were called in to help investigate an apparent motorcycle “chop shop” at the Lima Drive home, police said. Several motorcycles were found in various stages of disassembly with the vehicle identification numbers removed, according to police, and it's believed they were stolen.
