Placer Land Trust acquires easement to protect more of Oest Ranch

Published: January 15, 2013

The Placer Land Trust has secured a 160-acre agricultural easement to further protect the historic Oest Ranch in Placer County, the trust announced Sunday.

The property, known as Oest Ranch-Cold Springs Preserve, is near the American River's north fork in Clipper Gap. Under an agreement with the land's owners, the easement allows use for sustainable agriculture while protecting the natural, scenic and historic attributes of the property.

In 2009, the trust secured 350 acres of Oest Ranch land near Lake Clementine, about a mile downstream from the newly protected property.
