French Hospital Medical Center will again be an official sponsor and medical provider for the San Luis Obispo Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K presented by LeftLaneSports.com.

Dr. Armando Siqueiros of French Hospital will act as medical director for the event. He and nursing personnel will staff the first-aid tent, and hospital staff will be on alert for emergencies during race weekend April 5-7.

"We rest easy knowing that should something happen out on the course, our participants are in good hands with the French Hospital staff," said Heather Hellman, SLO Marathon event director, in a news release.

Siqueiros is a longtime runner and running coach. He assisted in the formation of the track team at Mission College Prep and coached there for six years. One of his runners at Mission Prep was Jordan Hasay, the Oregon State track star. He is now coaching the Cal Poly Distance Club.

French Hospital Medical Center will also be offering free lectures after the marathon, half marathon and 5K, about nutrition and diabetes prevention, cardiovascular health, as well as cancer prevention and resources.
