Principled stand

Published: January 14, 2013

I do not see Debbie Arnold’s opposition to a colleague’s vice chairman appointment as setting a wrong tone. I see it as a stand upon her principles. I do not know which principle she truly based her “no” vote on, but it seems to me she has the courage to be a statesman rather than a politician.

A principled elected official who is concerned with the next generation and not the next election is a statesman.
