Olivia Baker, 12, left, Mark Luna, 13, and Alyse Pearson, 12, shake native plant seeds from a cup to be raked into the ground. Los Osos Middle School students cultivated native plants through-out the school year for planting Saturday to help restore Sweet Springs Nature Preserve in Los Osos. The middle-school kids also planted native seeds into prepped ground and an acorn into tree stumps. The decomposed tree stump acts as a great medium for the seed to grow.
