The Morro Bay High boys soccer team downed Lompoc 2-1 on Thursday.
Jackson Chavez scored both goals for the Pirates (11-4-1, 4-1 Los Padres League) with assists from Ulises Carbajal and Holt Alden Jr.
Jeremy Nielson had 11 saves in goal.
Nipomo 4, Cabrillo 3, OT
Bryan Araujo scored the winning goal with an assist from Ivan Mosqueba for the Titans (8-7-3, 2-2-1 LPL) in the 98th minute.
Caleb Doan had one goal and one assist. Aaron Robles and Mike Arvealo also contributed a goal apiece, and Jason Alvarado had four saves in goal for Nipomo.
GIRLS SOCCER
Coast Union 6, Orcutt Academy 1
The Broncos’ (5-3-4) victory was led by Cristy Plasencia with two goals.
Karla Soto contributed one goal and one assist. Goalie Gabby Bucio had two saves.
Santa Ynez 4, Templeton 1
Sam Bronkar scored for the Eagles (3-7, 2-3 LPL).
Sam Schmidt had six saves in goal in the first half for Templeton, and Sara Albertini had five in the second.
Cabrillo 3, Nipomo 1
The Titans (6-7-2, 4-1) suffered their first LPL loss. Cristina Ozzimo scored the Titans’ goal, which was assisted by Kaitlyne Hernandez. Goalkeeper Yocelyn Lopez had four saves for Nipomo.
Lompoc 2, Morro Bay 0
Playing with just 12 players, the Pirates (3-11, 1-4 LPL) kept the game close behind the 14 saves of Madelynn Martinez.
