Gun regulation will be the topic of the Atascadero Democratic Club’s Jan. 17 meeting at the AARP building at Atascadero Lake Park off Highway 41.

The meeting, which is free and open to the public, is slated for 6:30 p.m. A public forum begins at 7:30 p.m. presented by Sarah Moffat, a field representative for United States Senator Dianne Feinstein.

Moffat will address Feinstein’s proposed legislation on assault weapons. The bill would stop the sale of more than 100 assault weapons with the exception of certain hunting and sporting weapons, according to her website, http://www.feinstein.senate.gov.
