Guns dont kill people, people kill people Lets follow this assertion to its logical end. If it is true, then Americans are an inherently evil and violent people, because no other countrys citizens kill one another at a similar rate.
If it is true, then all of the 12,000 gun murders of the last year, including the 20 children in Newtown, would have been killed by the same people even if they only had a knife or a hammer and nails for weapons. If it is true, then all those who assert that their right to guns is supreme must accept those gun deaths, as well as the possible death of their own child, as mere collateral damage.
And, if we accept that, then we are indeed an evil people.
