The Cal Poly women’s basketball team never trailed and led by as many as 30 points in a 64-46 win at UC Irvine on Saturday, the first win in Big West Conference play for the Mustangs this season.
Ariana Elegado had a team-high 20 points, four rebounds and four assists for Cal Poly.
The Mustangs (7-6, 1-1) outrebounded the Anteaters 45-32, including seven rebounds each from Brittany Woodard, Molly Schlemer and Jonae Ervin.
Woodard had 15 points, Schlemer had 10, and Nikol Allison had six points and six rebounds off the bench for the Mustangs.
Jasmine Bernard led UC Irvine (4-10, 0-2) with 13 points off the bench, and Lauren Spinazze added eight for the Anteaters.
Cal Poly will return to action Thursday when it hosts UC Davis at 7 p.m.
