It looks like a little tough love was all the Cuesta College women’s basketball team needed to rebound from a poor showing at the Grossmont Tournament in San Diego last weekend.
Courtney Chadwick scored 20 points for the Cougars (11-7), including six 3-pointers, in a 64-42 victory over Monterey Peninsula Junior College in the Ventura Crossover Tournament on Friday.
Alyssa Palma added 11 points, nine assists and five steals for Cuesta, which held the Wolves to 17
second-half points and 32 percent shooting from the floor in the game.
“I like the fire that we set today,” Cougars head coach Ron Barba said. “We really got after these kids. I have to compliment them. They moved the ball well, I thought our defense was excellent and I think we rebounded very well against a strong team inside.”
Aria Johnson had 14 points and 10 rebounds for Cuesta.
