About 30 brave souls (out of a gathering of about 80 people) took the plunge about 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, on a bright, sunny day at San Simeon Cove during the 14th annual polar bear dip, which also included a barbecue.
That’s down from about 40 who went into the waves in 2012, but up from only eight in 2010.
