Help save a child

Published: December 30, 2012

Abused Children’s Treatment Services is a San Luis Obispo County program that provides mental health services for abused and traumatized children. As coordinator of the program, I would like to thank Central Coast Funds for Children for its generous grant award of $5,500.

Those of us who work closely with children and listen to their stories of horrendous abuse and neglect know that it is impossible to do this work alone. I think of Central Coast Funds for Children as a partner in the work of healing the broken hearts of children in our community.

With the grant funds, we are able to provide music lessons, sports tuitions, school clothes and other fun activities to children who would otherwise miss out. All children deserve the chance to live in a safe and loving home with opportunities that explore their talents and build their self-esteem. Sadly, that is not always the case. Early intervention can make all the difference in a child’s ability to grow up and become a successful adult.

Central Coast Funds for Children members work tirelessly all year, hosting fundraising events that benefit many local community agencies that serve children. Check out their website at www.centralcoastfundsforchildren.org. Get involved. Help save a child.
