Rain totals grow for SLO County communities

How much rain has your community received so far in this winter storm? The following are inch totals as of 2 p.m. Sunday, as indicated by real-time precipitation statistics listed at www.slocountywater.org.

The rain began in the northernmost coastal communities on Friday evening, spreading to others by the early hours of Saturday morning. Because each rain gauge is located in a specific location, the numbers are likely to differ from both those listed in meteorologist John Lindsey’s Tribune column and those listed in the print edition of the paper.

• Arroyo Grande (near the intersection of Huasna Road and East Branch Street): 0.31 inches since Saturday, bringing the rain total to 3.69 inches since July 1.

• Atascadero (Northeast of Heilmann Regional Park): 0.7 inches since Saturday; 3.858 inches since July 1.

• Cambria: 1.5 inches since Friday; 5.709 inches since July 1.

• Los Osos (at the landfill off Turri Road): 0.79 inches since Saturday; 4.646 inches since July 1.

• Nipomo (Community service district equipment yard): 0.51 inches since Saturday; 3.386 inches since July 1.

• Oceano (Near the Union Pacific Railroad overcrossing of Highway 1): 0.28 inches since Saturday; 2.913 inches since July 1.

• San Luis Obispo (The Gas Company): 0.98 inches since Saturday; 5.197 inches since July 1.

• San Simeon: 1.42 inches since Friday; 5.669 inches since July 1.

• Santa Margarita: 1.97 inches since Saturday;4.488 inches since July 1.

• Shandon: 0.35 inches since Saturday; 1.850 inches since July 1.

• Templeton (County sheriff’s station): 0.99 inches since Saturday; 3.465 inches since July 1.

Note: No gauge was listed for Avila Beach, Morro Bay, Paso Robles or Pismo Beach.
