Herlihy leads Arroyo Grande high girls basketball team to win at Burroughs Tournament

Ashlyn Herlihy scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Arroyo Grande high girls basketball team to a 45-42 victory over Crescenta Valley at the Burroughs Tournament in Burbank on Friday.

Herlihy also led the team in rebounds with 14. Alex Mero had eight points for the Eagles (8-4), and Elizabeth Mero and Olivia Galindo added six points each.

Arroyo Grande trailed 18-17 at halftime but outscored Crescenta Valley 13-9 in the third to pull away.
Valley Christian Academy 63, Coastal Christian 22

Amy Arnold scored 14 points in the Conquerors (0-2 Coast Valley League) loss to the Lions.


Miramonte 67, San Luis Obispo 47

David Thoresen had 14 points in the Tigers’ loss to the Matadors at the Mission Prep Christmas Classic.

San Luis Obispo attempted just five free throws, making four, while Miramonte went 19 of 24 from the foul line.

Thoresen had four 3-pointers, and Blake Shapazian added 11 points for the Tigers.

North County Christian 54, Maricopa 40
Nathan Cedillo had 21 points and three assists to lead the Crusaders (2-3, 1-2 CVL) to their first league win.

Nolan Cannon added 17 points, 14 rebounds and four steals for North County Christian.
