Jonae Ervin recorded a double-double with 15 points and a career-high 11 assists as the Cal Poly women’s basketball team beat Loyola Marymount 84-71 in the Mustangs’ nonconference finale Thursday night at Mott Gym.
Molly Schlemer also had a double-double for Cal Poly (6-5) with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Ariana Elegado scored a game-high 23 points as she connected on 6 of 9 3-point attempts. Cal Poly shot 43 percent from the field for the game.
Alex Cowling led the Lions (6-6) with 16 points after going 12 for 13 from the free-throw line. Mackenzie Kerins had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The Lions were held to shooting 31 percent from the field and trailed 42-30 at halftime.
