I sat on the County Planning Commission as Supervisor David Blakeley’s appointee for his two terms. During those eight years, there were numerous occasions when “Citizen Greening” presented himself before us to share his observations of a business item before us.

I think Bob Cuddy’s recent article about Eric Greening caught his spirit, his candor, and his willingness to be an active, thoughtful participant in the governance of our county. Never mean-spirited, always courteous and direct. Always well prepared and genial even when his topics were hot-button items.

I think it very appropriate of Supervisor Patterson to call out Eric for recognition by the Board, and very comforting that the Board recognized Eric for his civil, and intelligent contributions to the welfare and benefit of all who live in San Luis Obispo County.
