In response to Mr. Campbell’s solution to arm the teachers to prevent school massacres (Letters, Dec. 15), you have got to be kidding me!

There will always be hatred in the world. There will always be those who legally own and use guns. There will always be people crazy enough to see murder as an option to solve their problems.

But other than police, military, and those who are hired to protect us, there is no reason on God’s green earth for anyone to legally own semi-automatic handguns or assault rifles!

One woman’s passion for these weapons of mass destruction led to the horrific deaths of 26 innocent people, when those guns got into the wrong hands — her son’s hands.

Arm the teachers?

Put weapons in schools? Perhaps Mr. Campbell might want to arm the students next? Surely, you have got to be kidding me! How many more mass killings will it take before we ban such assault weapons? If not now, when? When it is your child?
