The Nipomo Community Services District has hired a public information assistant to handle public outreach and keep district customers informed regarding water and wastewater services.
Jessica Matson started working at the district office Tuesday as a part-time employee on a contract basis. She will work about 20 hours a week for the district at $15 per hour, said district General Manger Michael LeBrun.
With her hiring, Nipomo residents can expect to see a quarterly, districtwide newsletter and an improved district website.
The Nipomo district board in October had unanimously approved a job description and salary range for the position.
