Arroyo Grande Police Department

Somebody smashed the front glass door to Broadway Jewelers in the Arroyo Grande Village early Thursday and made off with an undisclosed amount of jewelry from the store, police said.

A burglary alarm sounded at 12:30 a.m. Officers did not find the burglars at the scene. But video cameras set up throughout the Village by police under "Operation Blue Watch" took photos of a vehicle used by the burglar or burglars.

On Thursday afternoon, the car was discovered parked in the 100 block of Tally Ho Road. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Santa Maria.

Anyone with information about the burglars can call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 805-549-STOP (7867).

A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone who provides credible information that leads to identifying the burglars.
