HART recently created the Guardian Angel Fund, which is a new opportunity for the community to designate their donations to be used for a specific purpose.

According to Bonnie Ahlstrom, committee chair of the Guardian Angel Fund, “While we have many demands on our limited resources, our major expense, which dwarfs all others, is attending to the medical needs of our resident cats.

“The purpose of our Guardian Angel Fund is to fund medical procedures that exceed the normal expenses of taking a cat into the shelter — in other words, major medical and emergency cases.

“If you know someone who loves animals or just simply ‘has everything,’ you can give the Gift of Life with a Guardian Angel Gift Certificate,” she explained.

“Make a donation to HART’s Guardian Angel Fund in the name of someone on your gift list and give them a beautiful Guardian Angel Gift Certificate. The Certificates show the donation amount, what it benefits, the giver’s name and has a picture of a HART kitty. The Gift Certificates are available at HART’s Christmas Market Booth and at the HART Shelter, 2638 Main Street, Cambria.”
