Basketball teams begin league play

Special to The CambrianDecember 13, 2012

After plowing through a pre-season schedule that meant going up against teams like Fresno High School, Mendota High School, Santa Maria High School, Stockdale, Templeton and Morro Bay high schools, the Bronco boys varsity team began play in Coast Valley League this week (Dec. 11).

In their win 50-21 win against Morro Bay (Friday, Dec. 7) — during the Coast Union Tournament — Naum Hernandez led the Broncos with 16 points and Quinten Raethke, Nolan Baldwin and Aramis Ardis all chipped in with 5 points. Raethke grabbed 16 rebounds for Coast Union.
