Food for 550 families

Published: December 12, 2012

Last Saturday morning, 550 boxes were filled with 20 food items each by Boy Scout Troop 489 of Arroyo Grande. This effort by the Scouts and their leaders was an event to experience. The cooperative hard work exhibited by the troop is a positive indicator that we have motivated youth in our community. This was the troop’s fifth year of service to this food box effort at the Salvation Army Unit in Arroyo Grande.

Thanks to the Scouts’ part, this Salvation Army Unit (one of six in SLO county) can provide 550 South County families with food assistance this Christmas.
