See Paso students’ garden on Saturday

Published: December 7, 2012

The public is invited to view the student garden at Paso Robles’ Liberty High School on Saturday afternoon. An open house is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to show off students’ plant-growing projects, which include a rainwater catching system, greenhouse, plant nursery, native and drought-tolerant landscaping and a solar electric system.

Student artwork, plants and fruit trees grown by students will be on sale.

The event will be at the outdoor classroom behind the school’s softball field at 800 Niblick Road.

The students are in the school’s GreenWorks class, which runs the nursery in conjunction with the nonprofit One Cool Earth to help students learn job skills.
