Atascadero Lake Park’s new bandstand continues to take shape after construction began last month.

The Atascadero Kiwanis Club is leading the project. Volunteers expect to finish the bandstand in April so it will be ready for June music nights in the park and for Atascadero’s centennial celebration next fall.

Kiwanian Mark Dariz designed the bandstand, and fellow Kiwanian Paul Norton is the project’s general contractor, organizers said.

Kiwanis volunteers took down the old bandstand in October.
